Biography
-Since 1982, W.D. Peterson has served as Vice President for Administration and Finance/Executive Assistant to the President at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NMIMT). As executive assistant he is responsible to the president and serves as acting president in the president's absence. The position includes the function of legislative liaison as well as establishing priorities with the president for legislative requests, as well as finance administration and support functions.
Prior to 1982, Mr. Peterson was the Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration, Colleges of Engineering and Mines, and Director of Media Services, University of Utah. Responsibilities of the Engineering and Mines position included developing financial systems complimenting the central finance and administration function services, thereby relieving the departments of potential agency audit problems and administrative detail. The position also included accounting of facility management, budgeting, and personnel functions.
