Biography
-I'm a newcomer to Tech's faculty and have found happiness and stimulation through the students, colleagues and environs at Tech. I have been in the business of teaching and research since receiving my PhD in Economics from the University of New Mexico, circa 1992. My teaching portfolio includes courses given in economics, finance, marketing plus a few other odds and ends. Meanwhile my research ledger for the 2003-2004 academic year includes work on the demand for cultural goods, auction market theory and design, and contributing to an iCASA-funded research project on the operation of foreign exchange networks.
I see myself as having several fields of expertise, thanks to the memorable hours spent drinking coffee and arguing the merits of price theory and monetary economics. My publications include work on natural gas development, water and electric utility policies, natural resource valuation, analyses of commodity and financial futures markets, and examining consumption and investment in the arts. My articles appear in a variety of journals, and some of the abstracts can be downloaded from the EconLit database.
Research: Financial Economics, Cultural Economics, and Natural Resource and Environmental Economics.
Interests
Besides teaching and research I also like to travel with my wife and two sons, run in 5ks and fool around with my motocross bike (CR125). Cheers!
